چکیده

Hydrogen and helium are the most abundant elements in the Universe. They are also, in principle, the most simple. Nonetheless, they display remarkable properties under extreme conditions of pressure and temperature that have fascinated theoreticians and experimentalists for over a century. Advances in computational methods have made it possible to elucidate ever more of their properties. Some of these methods that have been applied in recent years, in particular, those that perform simulations directly from the physical picture of electrons and ions, such as density functional theory and quantum Monte Carlo are reviewed. The predictions from such methods as applied to the phase diagram of hydrogen, with particular focus on the solid phases and the liquid-liquid transition are discussed. The predictions of ordered quantum states, including the possibilities of a lowor zero-temperature quantum fluid and high-temperature superconductivity are also considered. Finally, pure helium and hydrogen-helium mixtures, the latter which has particular relevance to planetary physics, are discussed.

Sensitivity analysis of dependency of working fluid thermo-dynamics properties to temperature on performance of Gama-type Stirling engine

This research proposes the effect of temperature variation in the Prandtl number on the power, the efficiency and the heat loss of the Gama-type Stirling engine. It should be noted that the Prandtl number included the viscosity, the thermal conductivity coefficient and the specific heat at constant pressures of the working fluid, which the temperature dependency of such first two thermo-dynamic...

Properties of Dense Fluid Hydrogen and Helium in Giant Gas Planets

Equilibrium properties of hydrogen-helium mixtures under thermodynamic conditions found in the interior of giant gas planets are studied by means of density functional theory molecular dynamics simulations. Special emphasis is placed on the molecular-to-atomic transition in the fluid phase of hydrogen in the presence of helium. Helium has a substantial influence on the stability of hydrogen mol...

Hydrogen-Helium Mixtures in the Interiors of Giant Planets

Equilibrium properties of hydrogen-helium mixtures under conditions similar to the interior of giant gas planets are studied by means of first principle density functional molecular dynamics simulations. We investigate the molecular and atomic fluid phase of hydrogen with and without the presence of helium for densities between ρ = 0.19 g cm and ρ = 0.66 g cm and temperatures from T = 500K to T...

Physiological and phytochemical changes induced by seed pretreatment with hydrogen peroxide in Artemisia sieberi under salt stress.

Seeds of medicinal plant Artemisia sieberi were pretreated with H2O2 (0, 10, 50, 90, and 140 µM) and grown in saline condition (0 and 150 mM NaCl) for one month. Phytochemical properties such as antioxidant capacity and also salt tolerance in the plans arising from H2O2 pretreated seeds under salt stress were examined. Results showed a decrease in H2O2 and malondialdehyde concentrations in the ...
